Nantes est une fÍte, gathers a group of ordinary citizens with varied political opinions and social conditions. All of them love their home-town, all of them believe in democracy and social justice. In order to freely reach these goals, they have chosen not to run for public grants or individual power position. Aware of the need for citizens opposition force, they propose to the Public Institutions to locally experiment local, simple and cheap reforms such as, real time transparency of public accounts, the radical simplification of administrative formalities, the fight against racism, the establishment of a supranational Right. Acting in their town and elsewhere, these citizens invented "The May Day Eve celebration.

The NEUF 's initiatives are willingly enlivening, so as to demonstrate that conviviality and enjoyment may become a concrete goal (unlike for militant activism).

Note : with the St-Nazaire harbour, the urban area of Nantes (800 000 inhabitants in total) is the largest metropolis in the West of France.
