Chase the blues & other fantastic lyrics

CHASE THE BLUES

Well come along and walk with me
and learn the songs that lovers sing,
when they believe...
We'll dance along the river's edge
Just arm in arm along the moonlit shore
The midnight cry...
Well, I just came to chase the blues away...
For awhile

Just like a child you'll cling to me,
from every sound along that rushes near
It's just the breeze...
That licks your skin,
and rubs your breast,
and as we lay our river's flow away...
Your women fear
Well, I just came to chase the blues away...
For awhile

And with the morning sun will we'll wake,
And lift our eyes that watch the eagle fly...
Up mountain high
And on his wings our love will climb,
And never fail until he soars and dives
Oh, he'll take your breath away
Well, I just came to chase the blues away...
For awhile

CAN YOU FEEL IT

It's not the way you look
It's not the way you walk
It's not even the colour of your money
that brings you my respect

It's not the way you talk
It's not the clothes you wear
Your actions speak louder than words
For those who really cares

I can feel it
Calling me the way you used to do
And the time means nothing...oh, no, no

These lies, lies lies
that's all you've been told
Sometimes i feel like i'm sleepwalking
In a great big haunted house
Just stumbling around in the darkness
Can't seem to get sleep at night

I can feel it
Calling me the way you used to do
And the time means nothing...ooh...ooh

Lies, lies, lies...
that's all you've been told

DREAM LETTER

Lady time fly away
I've been thinking 'bout my yesterday
Oh, please listen darlin' to my empty prayers
Sleep inside my dreams tonight
All I need to know tonight are you and my child
Oh, is he a soldier or is he a dreamer?
Is he mama's little man?
Does he help you when he can?
Or does he ask about me?

Just like a soldier boy
I been out fighting wars
That the world never knows about
But I never win them loud
There's no crowds around me

But when I get to thinkin'
'Bout the old days
When love was here to stay
I wonder if we'd ever tried
Oh, what I'd give to hold him.

Words by Tim Buckley,
sang by B.Perry on the Tribute to Tim.

HAPPY TIME
Oh, it's a happy time inside my mind
When melody has found a rhyme
And says to me I'm coming home to stay

Oh, coming home to stay
Lord, I'm coming home to stay
Home to stay

Oh, Lord, it's just the same old story
Something 'bout love for glory
Nickel and a diamond is in fame
Oh, it's such a shame
Wow, the way they use your name
Whew, such a shame

Well, it's in my mind to sing a song
Hoping that you come along my way
Before I have to move along
Now, move along
Wow, but I'll be back again
Whew, back again

Ah, it's a happy time inside my mind
When melody has find a rhyme
And says to me I'm coming home to stay
Wow, coming home to stay
Lord, I'm coming home to stay
Home to stay

Oh, sleep late now, mama
Let the morning sun warm your face
While I'm awake
While I'm awake

Words by Tim Buckley sang by B.Perry in his first tour in 1994.

NOTRE SOLITUDE

Belle solitude, notre amour, notre coeur
Tu es le couteau qui apaise nos pleurs
Belle solitude tu nous serviras
Le jour où se battre il faudra
Pour toi est scellé notre amour à jamais
Dans le puits de ce monde imparfait
Belle solitude, instrument divin
Au service des limbes et du destin
L'innocence tu nous as arraché
Et la jeunesse tu nous as dérobé
Les fruits amer obtenus de toi
nourrissent la haine et le désespoir
Belle enfant de notre déclin
Evidence de notre destin
Maladie de notre insouciance
Et coupable de notre clairvoyance

Belle solitude, sangsue de nos coeurs
Solitude, sangsue de nos coeurs...

THE GREAT ALONE

Camavenny Street and the moon that fled, the piano fell,
let's have a drink flopping down like a fool in your buckskin shirt.
And i saw him away clutching the keys, talon handed-my God!
Where you ever out in the great alone when the moon was clear.

And the icy mountains fell and the silence you can almost hear
with the howl of the timber wolf you camped there in the cold
half dead thinking stark dead-word clean mad for the buck of gold,
while the high overhead, green, yellow and the red, the North Light swept in bars-
You've had a heart that music meant...hunger night and stars.
And her lips went into a kind of grin, and spoke and he was so calm and the voice said 'you don't know me'

On a sudden music change you're soft and scarce but you feel like a life had been looted clean
and someone'stolen the woman you loved that her love was the devils lie
that your guts were gone and the best was for you to crawl away and die and the crowning heart and the cry despair
and the thrills through you know i thought you were there
'i guess you'll make it spread in misery' said Dan Mc Grew.
The music always died away...she burnt like a leant up flood.

and it seemed to say, 'Replay, replay',
and my eyes were blind with blood
and i thought she came back ancient wrong and it stung like a frozen lash,
and the lust awoke and said kill, kill...
then the music stopped with the crash
and the stranger turned his eyes they burned in most peculiar way 'Boys you don't know me she'd say...
strange fool.

Words inspired by the poem 'the shooting of Dan Mc Grew' By Robert Service.
Sang by Simon Huw-Jones of And Also The Trees.

PLAYTIME

I'm with you tonight
without mask or clothes
I'm in your hands
like a leper i crawl and hide
burnt by the sunlight
and chased by the cold.
We're in some strangely-lit room
no signs of decay
until twilight falls over us
to show us our way
beyond the comfort of loneliness
we follow our footsteps
dancing
dancing...
I'm lying naked on the floor
with my hands held up high
something is forcing down upon me
scarring my body
gashing...
A piano plays quietly
lullaby-like in the background

Won't you fuck me with your sin

A child rushes into the room,crying..
but takes no notice of me lying
naked on the floor
she walks over to the window
and throws some bread to the birds
by the wall
she stands by the window for a while
just watching the birds
then runs back through the room
laughing...

And now it's playtime
and some pathway through
a laugh and a jolt
and a laugh
your train-stations
are my radio-waves
in no mans' land
some kind of romance
some kind of romance
