"Popular culture has embraced Bruce Lee, although much remains to be learned about the man and his ideas. People recite the bits of philosophy he sparingly fed his Western audiences in his films and television appearances. However, few look deeper than the surface to delve into who Bruce Lee really was. What was the true art and philosophy of Bruce Lee about? Many have written about the man, but few so eloquently as James Bishop. James not only espouses the principles of Bruce Lee's philosophy, he extols them in his actions." Andrew Kimura, Bruce Lee Educational Foundation board member and son of Bruce Lee's senior student.
"When it comes to knowledge of Bruce Lee's writings and philosophy, there are few men who have a better understanding of the subject than James Bishop! This book is somewhat controversial, but everything in the book is based on cold, hard facts! While this book explains the importance of Bruce Lee's philosophy, it also shows what happens when someone's private notes are turned into published writings after their death! These are things that true Bruce Lee fans need to know, as well as the general martial arts public! James Bishop is a fantastic author and Bruce Lee historian, and this, his second book, proves it once again!" Lamar M. Davis II, Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do instructor and editor of Hardcore Jeet Kune Do Magazine.
"Oh, my god! I am so blown away by this book and this man! The things you have written are very bold and brave." Roger Kennedy, Spirit Resource Institute
"My good friend James Bishop is not content with someone elses truth,he wants to find out the truth for himself! This book is a testimony to his hard work and dedication in bringing Bruce Lee's philosophy to a wider audience. Go raibh maith agat, James." Martin ONeill, Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do Ireland
I just got my copy of Dynamic Becoming today and I am very impressed. James Bishop's Remembering Bruce was good, but I think this one is great. He knows how to write! And in my opinion he has got the philosophy side of it extremely well thought out. Bill Cobb, martial artist.
I read 3 1/2 chapters of your book this weekend. It's wonderful---I had a hard time putting it down! Angela Zaballa, teacher.
"James Bishop is one of those rare individuals who prefers to always take the more difficult road and develop things from his own hard work, instead of just following the easy paths already explored again and again by others before him. He goes to the sources, talks with the people, and does his own research to provide the reader with a unique insight into the life and philosophy of Bruce Lee. Bishop is what you might call a pioneer researcher and Dynamic Becoming is not only a wonderful piece on Bruce Lee, but, undoubtly, one of those books worth having in every good library." Marcos Ocaņa, Spanish author and leading Bruce Lee historian.
